Visa, the official payment technology partner of FIFA, together with Crypto.com has fused Football, Art and NFTs for creating exclusive fan experience ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. The program named as ‘Visa Masters of Movement’ which will be auctioned on Crypto.com features NFTs inspired by iconic goals scored by five legendary footballers. All the NFT auction proceeds will be donated to the UK charity Street Child United.
Trend for creating NFT fan experience is getting traction and being adopted by leading sporting firms and events alike. Last year, the iconic Formula One racing teams Red Bull Racing and McLaren Racing entered into a multi-year technical partnership with Tezos to build its NFT fan experience platform. In August, The Real Cannonball Run movie makers has planned to offer unique web3 fan engagement ahead of its theatrical release in 2023.
Commenting on this initiative, Andrea Fairchild, senior vice president and head of sponsorships, Visa, said: “As FIFA World Cup 2022 approaches, we want to celebrate football, art and technology through the lens of what makes the FIFA World Cup so special – wildly impassioned fans, legendary athletes and for a few short weeks, the ability to bring the world together in a uniquely connected way.
Fans will be able to create digital art that is inspired by their own distinctive movements later this month as the NFT fan experience comes to life on an interactive pitch at the FIFA Fan Festival in Doha, Qatar.
In collaboration with Crypto.com, the official cryptocurrency trading platform sponsor of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM, eligible fans will have the chance to mint this digital art into their own NFT.
Visa Masters of Movement Digital LED pitch that uses tracking technology to record and turn the iconic movements of the visitofrs into digital art. Digital art will be emailed as a souvenir and eligible fans can choose to receive the digital art minted as a one-of-a-kind NFT. The Visa Masters of Movement booth will be open at the Doha FIFA Fan Festival.
The Visa Masters of Movement auction, which is currently taking bids on Crypto.com, comprises digital artwork made in tribute to five legendary players’ most memorable goals.
