Israel-based eSports club Team Finest has collaborated with Tezos Israel to build their first NFT on the energy-efficient Tezos blockchain. This one-year renewal of the contract will make history as Team Finest becomes the first eSports club in Israel to produce NFTs for its fans.
The first professional eSports organization in Israel
Team Finest is the first professional eSports organization in Israel fielding competitive players across some of the most popular video games in the world. Led by the CEO Rotem Kamer, the organization has catapulted to the top of the Israeli eSports scene.
Rotem has an extensive background in sports management. Before joining as CEO of Team Finest in 2021, he served as CEO of the Israel Football Association for eight years and had been deputy CEO for five years beforehand.
Since inception, Finest has become the one of the most recognizable eSports organizations in the European eSports scene, with an acclaimed players’ legacy that has created countless memories for fans and players alike. With extraordinarily talented players and devoted staff, Finest is striving to become the leading Esports organization in Europe.
As part of Team Finest, six teams play in five different game titles: FIFA, Fortnite, Valorant, CS: GO and Sim Racing. Finest also holds the first women’s eSports team in the country, operating in the popular game Valorant.
Team Finest and Tezos
As part of the collaboration, the esports club will launch activities for NFT fans as early as this coming Summer, 2022. Team Finest plans to launch NFTs built on Tezos to its community that will involve giveaways, discounts, access to virtual and in-person events, and other various utilities that will create more immersive experiences for the Finest fans.
Amir Vahab, Vice President of Sales and Business Development, Team Finest, said:
“Through its continuous upgrades, Tezos has repeatedly shown its ability to innovate in a seamless decentralized way. Our Team Finest values match closely with their dedication to evolve with the times. Additionally, their energy-efficient validation system is perfect for us as other blockchain’s environmental concerns become more of an issue.”
Last year, Tezos Israel and Team Finest announced a sponsorship agreement for education and blockchain adoption with the eSports organization.
Team Finest said that the partnership has produced great enthusiasm within the esports community and the contract renewal is the result of a chorus of fans who want to see further projects built on the Tezos blockchain.
Team Finest also said that its fans can expect more such announcements in the coming weeks.
Commenting on the partnership, Elie Terdjman, Founder of Tezos Israel, said:
“I’m extremely excited about this partnership. We’ve worked very closely with Team Finest over these past months and I cannot be more enthusiastic about developing an even stronger relationship with the team as this partnership progresses.”
“Blockchain and gaming have always been a perfect collaboration with each other and the past year has certainly shown how this synergy will continue to grow,” Elie mentioned.
Tezos, known for its energy-efficient architecture, self-upgradable mechanism, and low transaction costs, has amassed a few prominent partners in the gaming world over the past two years, including the major game publisher Ubisoft, Red Bull Racing, and McLaren Racing.
In January, French Esports organization Team Vitality announced a multi-year deal with Tezos as its main technical partner. In March, another Esports company Misfits Gaming Group partnered with Tezos to launch a new game designing tool ‘Block Born’.
