Monster League Studios, the creative force behind the Mokens League gaming ecosystem, has secured an additional $2 million in funding, doubling its equity raise to $4 million.
This investment fuels the company’s ambitious push to broaden its Web3 gaming universe, develop new games, and enhance the recently launched $MOKA utility token.
The funds come as Monster League Studios’ user base surpasses 50,000 active monthly players. Starting with its flagship soccer game, the Mokens League ecosystem is designed to allow players to move seamlessly between titles, soon to include games like Padel, Tennis, and Racing.
The $MOKA token, which underpins key in-game functions, aims to drive in-game purchases, player rewards, and exclusive features across the ecosystem, making it a foundational element of the platform’s appeal and utility.
This year, Monster League Studios attracted the attention of Google, landing a spot in the tech giant’s highly selective incubation program for promising casual gaming titles on Google Play. By collaborating directly with Google, Monster League Studios optimized key metrics in Mokens League, resulting in performance benchmarks that surpass many competitors in the sector. This partnership with Google underscores the breakout potential of the Mokens League platform and highlights the platform’s appeal to a global audience interested in Web3-enabled gaming experiences.
“From our growing user base to Google, people are responding to Monster League Studios and its mission to build a new type of interconnected Web3 gaming,” commented Martin Repetto, CEO of Monster League Studios. “With this new round of equity funding, we look forward to applying what we’ve learned to realize that mission in new and exciting ways.”
Founded by gaming veterans Martin Repetto and Maximo Radice, Monster League Studios is no stranger to innovation. The two founders bring decades of experience from successful startups such as Voxelus, one of the earliest blockchain gaming ventures, and Atmosphir, a tool for game creation. With Mokens League, they aim to blend this legacy of user-generated content and real-time transactional models into a “Nintendo-like” blockchain gaming ecosystem.
More than just another game, Mokens League offers a distinct IP in the blockchain gaming space. Its ecosystem takes a “win-to-earn” approach focused on skill and entertainment, differentiating itself from the “play-to-earn” trend that often prioritizes earnings over gameplay. Mokens League players can use $MOKA tokens and NFTs across different titles, allowing characters and assets to transcend individual games, adding depth and continuity to their gaming experiences.
