LONDON, June 24, 2022 / AlexaBlockchain/ – Bally on the Block, a unique NFT art project that celebrates UK grime music, has sold out its first phase of balaclava NFTs. Since launching on June 21, 250 NFTs have been minted by over 30 different holders at 0.03 ETH each.
Bally on the Block is the first project on the blockchain to celebrate UK grime rappers and music. The collection features 7,777 hand-drawn unique balaclavas, all paying homage to grime music and urban London fashion. The project will drop the remaining 7,527 NFTs in the coming weeks in four further phases.
The founder of Bally on the Block, known in the crypto world as BlazeB.ETH, said:
“We’re thrilled to announce that our first phase has sold out. UK grime music is one of the most distinct and unique genres of music out there, so it’s great to see that finally reflected in the NFT space.”
He added: “Over in America, rappers like Snoop Dog, Nas and Eminem have been involved in NFTs for a while, but some UK rappers have been more reluctant. We chose the balaclava – an artifact of UK grime and drill music – to celebrate and represent those who we want to see enter the NFT space.”
One of the NFT holders is UK rapper C Biz, who shared his Bally NFT on his Instagram story. The long-term goal of Bally on the Block is to create a decentralized talent scouting platform that supports up-and-coming artists in London and beyond.
BlazeB.ETH said: “The best part about the NFT space is that it’s very communal – people really go out of their way to support one another. We aim to embrace that sense of community to create Bally’s Got Talent, our decentralized talent scouting platform, which we will later take into the Metaverse. This launch is just the beginning of what we hope is a long road ahead.”
