Key Takeaways

  • Aegis Custody offering six months of free custody services to female-led crypto companies.
  • The initiative aims to support underrepresented women in the industry.
  • Custody services are essential for Web3 and Aegis Custody provides end-to-end solutions.
  • The initiative is open to female-founded or led crypto firms of any size or stage of development.

Aegis Custody, a US-qualified custodian that offers regulatory compliant solutions and custody services for on-chain transactions, has announced the launch of an initiative to support female-led crypto firms.

The program will provide six months of free custody services to any crypto firm founded or led by a female, with the aim of providing support and fostering connections for underrepresented women in the industry.

The initiative is in response to a study by Crypto Head that found that women are underrepresented in the cryptocurrency industry, with only five of the 121 leading crypto companies surveyed being founded by women. Additionally, less than 10% of partners at all crypto funds are women.

Aegis Custody believes that these figures highlight the pressing need to promote gender diversity and inclusivity in the industry.

Aegis Custody offers end-to-end custodial solutions for enterprises and retail investors looking to tokenize assets on the blockchain in a secure, compliant, and user-friendly way.

The company protects clients’ assets from unauthorized access and advances compliance with regulatory requirements. Aegis also offers specie insurance, which insures tokenized assets, including NFTs.

Serra Wei, CEO and founder of Aegis Custody, stated that the initiative was created to provide female-led companies and investors with the tools they need to succeed.

“As a female founder, I am acutely aware of the lack of community and support for female-led crypto companies in the industry. We are thrilled to offer free custody solutions, a service that is essential for safeguarding digital assets, but often overlooked,” she added.

The initiative is open to any female-founded or led crypto companies, regardless of their size or stage of development, and will provide six months of free custody services, worth a total of $28,000.

This will allow these companies to focus on growth and building innovative products and services without worrying about the expenses associated with custody services.

Custody services are essential for Web3, providing a foundation for blockchain protocols and enabling institutional investments in both private and public blockchains. As the crypto industry continues to mature and regulations emerge, custody services will become even more important for investors and companies seeking to protect their assets and comply with regulatory requirements.
