South Korean video game developer Wemade will showcase its global blockchain gaming platform ‘WEMIX’ at the upcoming GDC event.
Wemade is a video game studio based in Seoul, South Korea. They are the creators of the Legend of Mir MMORPG series, with The Legend of Mir 2 and its sequel The Legend of Mir 3 being the most popular. During its peak, Legend of Mir attracted over 120 million users in Asia and generated over $65 million in monthly revenue. Legend of Mir 2 continues to make well over $20 million per month in China even now, in its ninth year of existence.
WEMIX, a Global Blockchain Gaming Platform developed by Wemade, enables games of all genres to be transformed into blockchain games.
GDC (Game Developers Conference) is the world’s largest developers conference. GDC 2022 will be held in San Francisco at the Moscone Center from March 21-25.
Wemade has also unveiled its first key visual, WEMIX mother ship, which symbolizes the global blockchain platform, WEMIX. This marks the start of the 2022 global roadshow, WIN2022 (WEMIX in NFT).
In the key visual, the ‘HELLO! SAN FRANCISCO WE’RE ON WEMIX’ slogan and Wemade’s mother ship engraved with WEMIX and Wemade appear over the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
Wemade, the Diamond partner of GDC 2022, will showcase its global blockchain platform, WEMIX, to developers around the world. Meta, AWS, Intel, Microsoft, and Unity Technologies are other big players participating in the conference.
The company will introduce the WEMIX platform to developers at GDC in the backdrop of a cinematic video of Wemade’s mother ship played through a large screen. Developers will also get a chance to have various business meetings about P&E games and the onboarding process.
Wemade will be giving 5 presentations and hosting a networking party at the conference. On the 22nd, Henry Chang, CEO of Wemade, will give a speech about ‘Play and Earn: Transforming Games with the Blockchain Economy’ followed by presentations from Shane Kim, the Managing Director of WEMIX Department, and three more presenters. They will also host a networking party with companies and buyers attending GDC.
Wemade said that many games are currently being serviced on WEMIX. In January, Wemade launched a new blockchain game, ‘GalaxyTornado on WEMIX’, for the global market. It aims to service 100 games whose key currency is WEMIX Token by the end of this year.
