Today, leading blockchain gaming company Wemade launched its blockchain mainnet, WEMIX3.0. The mainnet’s first block, the genesis block, was created at 12 p.m. KST on October 20 (8 p.m. PDT on October 19) to launch the network.
The genesis block contains an image of Hunminjeongeum, a book published by Sejong the Great in the mid-15th century after he and his team of scholars created Korean alphabet. Also included is an excerpt from the book, translated in English, which explains that the alphabet was made for the benefit of the public.
Henry Chang, CEO of Wemade, points out that the world is witnessing the rise of the new digital economy based on blockchain technology.
“WEMIX has a head start of four-and-a-half years; with our leadership in technology and the launch of WEMIX3.0, we’ll lead the paradigm shift to the digital economy,” Henry stated.
The platform-driven and service-oriented mainnet will support Wemade’s partnerships with corporations and projects that contribute to the growth and expansion of the WEMIX ecosystem.
WEMIX3.0 meets all of the core requirements for a robust blockchain network, featuring decentralization, security and scalability, and promises to solve the so-called blockchain trilemma. Thanks to its collaboration with 40 Global Node Council Partners, known as 40 WONDERS, the mainnet will operate securely and efficiently.
Following the launch of the mainnet, WEMIX CLASSIC, formerly known as WEMIX, will migrate to WEMIX Coin at each of the WEMIX3.0 exchanges. The ‘WEMIX WALLET’ app will become ‘PLAY WALLET’ and a new ‘WEMIX WALLET’ for WEMIX Coin will launch soon after. ‘PLAY WALLET’ users can swap ‘WEMIX Credit’, which can be exchanged with WEMIX CLASSIC 1:1 ratio, to ‘WEMIX Coin’ using the bridge service.
Wemade mentioned in a press release shared with AlexaBlockchain that it will continue its momentum by launching its 100% reserved stablecoin, WEMIX$. This stablecoin will reinforce stability of value, reflexivity between native game coins and scalability within the WEMIX3.0 ecosystem.
The WEMIX$ launch will be followed by WEMIX.Fi, the ecosystem’s decentralized financial service, and NILE, a new financial platform that connects NFTs and DAOs. Wemade’s blockchain gaming platform, WEMIX PLAY, will undergo a refresh as it connects to WEMIX3.0.
