Digital Entertainment Asset (DEA), a Web3 entertainment company, has announced the launch of the world’s first “Impact NFT” on the PlayMining GameFi platform. This innovative product allows players of Play-to-Earn (P2E) games to donate a portion of their crypto earnings to a predetermined charity or person in need, simply by using an Impact NFT in the game.
DEA Co-founder and Co-CEO Kozo Yamada said: “We developed Impact NFTs to make donations more accessible for younger generations. Now, they can help contribute to social impact initiatives just by playing a game.”
The first Impact NFT: Play Lucky Farmer to Support a Lucky Farmer’s Community
The first Impact NFT available on the PlayMining NFT marketplace enables players of Lucky Farmer to support a banana farm community in the Philippines. Players who use the Impact NFT in their game will have 20 percent of their crypto earnings automatically sent to the banana farm’s owner. The players will also receive a personal thank-you video letter from the farmer.
DJhau, the farmer behind the banana farm, turned to farming to support his family after his previous business went bankrupt during the COVID pandemic. DEA recognized DJhau’s passionate desire to support both his family and community, and chose to dedicate PlayMining’s first Impact NFT to help DJhau achieve his goals. This initiative not only supports DJhau’s family but also creates employment and supports economic activities in his local community.
GameFi-for-Good: Empowering People Through Games
DEA is actively involved in a number of social good activities, including hosting a food drive to help an impoverished community in Indonesia and collaborating on a game that incentivizes players to help inspect aging public infrastructure in communities where local governments are understaffed. There are five P2E NFT games on the PlayMining GameFi platform that enable gamers to earn DEAPcoin ($DEP) tokens through play.
DEA has partnered with Yield Guild Games Southeast Asia (YGG SEA), a subsidiary of the world’s largest P2E gaming guild, Yield Guild Games (YGG), to onboard PlayMining’s entire game catalog to the yggsea.io gaming platform, enabling PlayMining to receive greater exposure and help more people in SEA.
DEA is dedicated to supporting content creators, paying out over SG$9 million in royalties to both official and fan artists on the PlayMining NFT marketplace. Third-party indie game studios that launch NFT games on PlayMining have access to the platform’s NFT marketplaces and developing metaverse initiative.
DEA’s other Co-founder and Co-CEO Naohito Yoshida said: “We are wholly dedicated to not only providing these fans with entertainment, but also empowering them in as many ways as we can.” With this new Impact NFT, DEA and PlayMining have opened up a new avenue for gamers to contribute to social impact initiatives and help support communities in need, demonstrating the potential for Web3 technology to create positive change.
