Online publishing platform Substack integrates OpenNode Bitcoin API to enable Bitcoin payments for its users. OpenNode will power both on-chain and Lightning Network Bitcoin payments.

Writers on Substack are independent publishers who own their work and their relationship with their audience. Readers can subscribe directly to writers they like, and support them directly through paid subscriptions.
Notably, Substack’s platform hosts a ton of incredible Bitcoin content. According to Backlinko, 2 out of the top 5 paid business newsletters on Substack are focused on Bitcoin.

“Working together, OpenNode and Substack are starting by making instant, low cost payments available to a select group of crypto-focused publications,” states OpenNode.
Substack readers will be able to use Bitcoin payments for subscriptions to selected publications. And, the publications will retain earnings in Bitcoin.
