OKX has expanded its Layer-2 network capabilities by integrating Chainlink’s oracle and interoperability technology. The company announced that X Layer, its high-performance Ethereum Layer-2, has joined the Chainlink SCALE program and adopted Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) as its canonical cross-chain solution.
The move connects X Layer directly to Chainlink’s infrastructure stack — the same one now linking global finance and decentralized systems. Chainlink’s oracle network, already used by institutions like UBS and Swift, delivers tamper-proof market data powering fund tokenization, automated trading, and on-chain settlement.
By adopting CCIP, X Layer developers gain access to secure, programmable cross-chain token transfers and messaging. The integration also enables policy-controlled features such as rate limits and smart execution, enhancing both flexibility and security for DeFi builders. Joining the Chainlink SCALE program further reduces infrastructure costs by subsidizing oracle and cross-chain services, allowing developers to access premium data feeds at minimal expense.
Chainlink’s infrastructure is increasingly seen as the connective tissue between these worlds, as institutions push fund data, pricing, and workflows on-chain. OKX’s integration positions X Layer to participate directly in that emerging network economy.
With over 5,000 transactions per second, near-zero gas fees, and deep OKX ecosystem integration, X Layer aims to become a leading platform for cross-chain DeFi and tokenized assets. Developers can now use Chainlink Data Feeds and CCIP via updated X Layer documentation, paving the way for faster, cheaper, and more secure blockchain applications.
