Litewallet users can now transact using human-readable addresses supported by .crypto domains [ex: brad.crypto]. The domain was purchased through Unstoppable Domains, a company building blockchain domain names.
By adding .crypto blockchain domains, the Litecoin Foundation intends to create a better user experience for sending and receiving cryptocurrency payments.
Litecoin Foundation has been a pioneer for cross-chain interoperability, stemming from its involvement in the first-ever atomic swap between the Bitcoin and Decred networks. More recently, Litecoin and Cardano have teased plans to conduct a velvet fork bridging their two chains. With .crypto domains’ compatibility across 35+ wallets and 80 supported cryptocurrencies, Litecoin Foundation and Unstoppable Domains anticipate the collaboration will be a critical next step toward a unified and frictionless cryptocurrency ecosystem.
