Bharat Web3 Association (BWA)
In November of last year, several major crypto companies in India formed the Bharat Web3 Association (BWA) as a new advocacy group after the dissolution of the Blockchain and Crypto Assets Council by the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) in July 2022 due to disagreements with crypto companies.
The association aims to promote the development and growth of the blockchain and crypto industry in India by collaborating with the government and other stakeholders.
BWA envisions a future where India is a global leader in the blockchain and crypto industry, and seeks to create an environment that fosters innovation and entrepreneurship in this field. To achieve this goal, the association focuses on advocacy, education, and research.
As an advocacy group, BWA advocates for policies and regulations that support the growth of the industry while safeguarding the interests of stakeholders. The association also seeks to educate the public and policymakers about the benefits of blockchain and crypto, and to dispel misconceptions and myths surrounding this emerging technology.
Through research and analysis, BWA aims to contribute to the development of a robust and sustainable blockchain and crypto ecosystem in India. The association is committed to promoting best practices, standards, and protocols that ensure the security, transparency, and efficiency of blockchain and crypto transactions.
