United States, April 20, 2021 /AlexaBlockchain/ – Cryptocurrency giant Binance.US has hired Brian Brooks as its next CEO.
Brooks will be starting his new position with Binance on May 1, 2021. He will replace Catherine Coley, the company’s current CEO.
Who is Brian Brooks?
Brian P. Brooks is an American lawyer, banker, entrepreneur, technologist, and government official. He served as an acting head of Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) under Trump administration.
Brooks has got huge exposure to digital assets and cryptocurrency. While at the OCC, Brooks issued interpretive letters that allowed banks to custody digital assets, hold stablecoin reserves and participate in stablecoin networks. He departed the OCC on January 14. Brooks served as Chief Legal Officer at cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase for 19 months, prior to joining Binance.US.
