BetDEX Exchange, the first fully licensed sports betting exchange built on the blockchain, has announced that it will be introducing cricket markets to its platform this week, Just in Time for IPL 2023 Season.
With the forthcoming 2023 season of the Indian Premier League, BetDEX Exchange will be accepting bets on IPL matches, joining the likes of soccer and basketball markets already available on the platform.
BetDEX Exchange is all set to achieve a significant milestone with the launch of cricket markets via the IPL, one of the world’s most popular leagues, now available to the BetDEX community.
With 229 million television viewers tuning in for the Indian Premier League matches in the first week of the season last year, IPL is one of the highest valued sports leagues worldwide.
Varun Sudhakar, CEO and Co-Founder of BetDEX, said: “The addition of IPL on the BetDEX Exchange is an exciting milestone and a celebration of the ongoing expansion of our betting markets. Adding the IPL has been a key goal of the team as we continue to add more sports markets across the globe for our community.”
Since its launch on Solana’s blockchain in November 2022 for the FIFA World Cup, BetDEX has continually upgraded and expanded its exchange.
BetDEX Exchange runs on the Monaco Protocol, a decentralized and open-sourced protocol that leverages the Solana blockchain. This allows the platform to support prediction and betting markets while providing greater security and lower network fees compared to traditional betting exchanges and sportsbooks.
BetDEX is backed by prominent investors including Paradigm, Multicoin, and Lightspeed, building open-source technology for global prediction markets.
The BetDEX Exchange became the first fully licensed sports betting exchange on blockchain after gaining licensing from the Isle of Man in October 2022.
