Astar Network has partnered with Sony Network Communications to launch a Web3 Incubation Program aimed at nurturing projects that utilize NFTs and DAOs to solve various industry problems.
Astar Network today revealed that the program has attracted over 150 registrations since its launch on 17 February 2023, with the application deadline set for 6 March 2023.
“I am amazed to see our developer community grow this quickly and welcome the new projects joining our Web3 Incubation Program with Sony Network Communications,” states Startale Labs and Astar Network CEO, Sota Watanabe.
“I’m ready to begin the next stage of our program, when our incubated projects begin to work with an elite group of mentors from AWS, Polychain, Microsoft, and more,” Sota Watanabe added.
The three-month program will include mentorship from experts at AWS, Polychain, and Microsoft, among others. Participants will attend global VC firm learning sessions and business and technology strategy workshops.
The incubation program will also feature an offline demo day in mid-June, where promising companies will be considered for investment from Sony Network Communications.
Sony Network Communications is exploring the application of blockchain technology in its business areas of communication, IoT, AI, and solution services. Its collaboration with Astar Network will enable the firm to find relevant Web3 solutions quickly.
Both companies will review applications and select 10 to 15 cohorts to participate in the program, which will be organised by Startale Labs, a Singapore-based company founded by Astar Network CEO Sota Watanabe.
Astar Network is a smart contract platform for multichain that supports developers in building dApps with EVM and WASM smart contracts. The company offers true interoperability with cross-consensus messaging (XCM) and a cross-virtual machine (XVM) and empowers developers to get paid through a dApp staking mechanism for their code and the dApps they build. The Astar SpaceLabs incubation hub provides support for top TVL dApps in the Polkadot ecosystem.
The Web3 Incubation Program powered by Sony Network Communications and Astar Network is open to participants from anywhere in the world, regardless of their startup phase.
The program aims to nurture Web3 projects focused on NFT and DAO utility, with a view to encouraging innovative solutions in various industry areas. The mentorship sessions will feature senior executives and industry veterans from various companies and industries.
