From the creators of the popular “Dungeon Master” NFT game, now comes the launch of “Dungeon Worlds,” a massive expansion to the game with user-owned NFT staking experiences. The expansion goes live soon on the Wax blockchain with land sales beginning this month.
In “Dungeon Worlds,” just like in the original “Dungeon Master” game, community-run dungeons are organized in seasons, with each one starting and ending across all dungeons. The new expansion brings user-owned NFT staking experiences, empowering players to build a customizable game experience where they can establish their own rules and set their own rewards. Influencers and NFT creators can now also run their own dungeons, while providing additional utilities for their NFT collections on their own terms.
“Dungeon Worlds” is created by Spielworks, a leading blockchain startup specializing in gaming and decentralized finance (DeFi) solutions. Spielworks built one of the fastest-growing blockchain gaming ecosystems in the market, featuring over 3 million signups and 65,000 daily users.
Commenting on the launch, Adrian Krion, Spielworks’s CEO and Co-Founder, said: “We have invested so much time and energy building up to this moment and we are really proud of the hard work that we’ve put into Dungeon Worlds.”
Spielworks’s flagship game, “Dungeon Master,” demonstrated the power of engaging with creators and brands via NFTs. Now, with the launch of “Dungeon Worlds,” Spielworks expands the Wombat ecosystem by bringing user-owned NFT staking experiences. In “Dungeon Worlds,” just like in the original “Dungeon Master” game, community-run dungeons are organized in seasons, with each one starting and ending across all dungeons.
To create a dungeon, a user must hold land in the form of a 3×3 patch. The plots of land will initially be dropped as NFTs on the WAX and Polygon blockchains before being added to others, like Ethereum. In the game, each blockchain features a 64×64 tile-sized map of lands.
At the end of each season, “Dungeon Worlds” will award all community-led dungeons with a prize pool of 100 million $WOMBAT tokens. Additional features include competitions, cross-dungeon equipment, clans, and the “Overlord Principle,” which comes with a set of special privileges within the game.
“Dungeon Worlds brings so many awesome new features that will resonate with our community. In addition to these new features, down the road we are planning to introduce multi-chain dungeons, a battle mode, clan wars, Dungeon DAOs, and more,” Adrian added.
Despite the ongoing crypto winter, investors have poured more than $3.4 billion in private NFT and blockchain gaming companies through Q3 of this year. With hundreds of millions of NFTs across multiple networks already issued, and billions, or even trillions, of them to be minted over the coming years, blockchain-gaming platforms have an opportunity to build games that drastically expand the P2E user base.
Dungeon Worlds is now live on the Wax blockchain with land sales beginning on December 29. The first drops on Polygon will take place in February ahead of the public launch in May.
