Amidst the tumultuous market conditions that have left many web3 projects struggling to stay afloat, the blockchain gaming sector appears to be holding its own. According to projections, the Global NFT Gaming Market is set to maintain a strong growth trajectory, exhibiting a CAGR of over 30% for the period spanning 2022 to 2027.
This can largely be attributed to the innovative technology employed in blockchain-built games and dApps, which facilitates a more efficient and streamlined process for capturing the utility and value of in-game purchases and asset acquisitions.
Gaming firm Spielworks is no different in that sense, with its Wombat Dungeon Master demonstrating the power of engaging with creators and brands via NFTs and completing a successful season ahead of its expansion launch, with 200,000 NFTs minted, 37K new users, and the distribution of additional rewards in Spielwork’s $WOMBAT token.
With over 3 million registered users and 65,000 daily active players, Spielworks has established itself as a rapidly expanding force in the world of blockchain gaming.
The ecosystem boasts several innovative components, including the multi-chain non-custodial Wombat Wallet, the crypto rewards platform Womplay, which features 40 popular AA and AAA-supported titles, and the highly regarded NFT staking game, Wombat Dungeon Master. In fact, the latter has already attracted an impressive 1.5 million staked NFTs and currently ranks among the Top 15 games in this category.
With the upcoming beta launch of “Dungeon Worlds” in the third quarter, Spielworks expands the Wombat ecosystem by bringing user-owned NFT staking experiences. In “Dungeon Worlds,” just like in the original Wombat Dungeon Master game, community-run dungeons are organized into seasons, with each one starting and ending across all dungeons.
Adrian Krion, Spielworks CEO and Co-founder, said that they empower players and creators to give them a platform to generate utility with an exciting gaming experience and through user-owned NFT staking.
Ahead of the beta launch, Spielworks conducted land and Wombat character drops on the WAX and Polygon blockchains in the form of NFTs. Additional networks such as EOS and BNB Chain will be added at a later date.
The “Dungeon Worlds” map consists of 10,000 land tiles on each blockchain, containing different geographic features and materials that can be discovered by Wombat characters.
Equipment in the form of NFTs can be leveraged by players to enhance their dungeons and characters and enjoy interoperability across all dungeons respective of their chain.
Following the launch, they are already working on a number of exciting game modes and features including cross-chain dungeon interoperability, a battle mode, clan wars, and more, Adrian added.
