Soccerverse has closed a strategic funding round of $3.1 million (£2.5 million), led by the renowned game publisher Square Enix. This latest infusion of capital, bolstered by ongoing support from existing investor Hiro Capital, elevates Soccerverse’s total funding to $4 million.
Soccerverse, co-founded by ex-Soccer Manager CEO Andrew Gore alongside blockchain gaming trailblazers Andrew Colosimo and Daniel Kraft, aims to create a player-owned and player-led economy, setting it apart from traditional gaming models.
Currently in open beta on the Polygon blockchain, Soccerverse offers a unique blend of a browser-based, free-to-play football management simulator and trading game. Players can not only build and manage their teams but also demonstrate their football acumen by trading player influence within the game’s vibrant community.
The newly secured funds are earmarked for optimizing the game ahead of its scheduled Q4 2024 launch and accelerating its growth trajectory post-launch.

Soccerverse plans to launch its first game, which is currently in the final stages of development, later in 2024.
