NFT Marketplace Rarible has integrated EURL, the Euro-backed stablecoin, to enable the purchase of Tezos-based NFTs. Rarible is one of the largest NFT platforms globally and integrated Tezos-based NFTs into its platform last year.
EURL Stablecoin
EURL is a Euro-backed stablecoin developed by a consortium (Lugh) including French retail giant Groupe Casino.
Groupe Casino is a French ‘mass-market’ retail group with 11,000 stores, over 220,000 employees worldwide, and revenue of €37.822 billion in 2017.
EURL is intended to become a means of payment and a global loyalty program for partner brands.
EURL is fully backed by euros held in a bank account and regular accounting reports are conducted by top 4 accounting firms such as Deloitte.
Lugh is also one of the many corporate bakers that run a Tezos node and help secure and decentralize the Tezos blockchain.
Last year, crypto exchange Coinhouse reported a six-month trading volume of over 100 million Euro in EURL.
Rarible NFT Marketplace
Rarible is one of the biggest NFT platforms worldwide and has integrated Tezos-based NFTs last year.
Now, Rarible has also integrated EURL to enable the purchase of Tezos-based NFTs on the platform.
As part of the new collaboration, a first NFT collection called ‘Mr Tezos’ will be launched on the Rarible platform and priced in EURL.
The Mr Tezos collection will form 222 clean NFTs. People interested in participating in the collection can fund their Rarible wallets with EURL via the integrated Moonpay app.
Users will then have the option of using the EURL currency option as shown below.
EURL can also be cashed out via the Mt Pélerin app.
EURL – Beaugrenelle Shopping Center in Paris
This month Tezos-powered application LYZI announced that they will integrate EURL to enable their users to spend EURL in the Beaugrenelle Shopping Center in Paris.
The Beaugrenelle Shopping Center is located in the 15th arrondissement of Paris and features 110 stores.
Part of the application is the EAZY loyalty token, which is deployed on the Tezos blockchain too.
