InfiniGods, a web3 gaming studio, has announced the launch of its first game, InfiniMerge. The game is free-to-play and based on ancient Greek mythology.
InfiniGods was founded by former Facebook director of gaming Owen O’Donoghue and former DGN Games CEO Damon Gura, and received $9 million in seed funding led by Pantera Capital along with Framework Ventures, Jefferson Capital, Animoca Brands and Double Peak.
Since launching, InfiniMerge has been well-received with high retention rates among players and has already seen the creation and sale of over 100 NFTs.
The game is a fresh take on casual puzzle games and combines simple mechanics with digital collectibles and play-to-own rewards.
InfiniGods has observed early metrics that show that players who participated in its recent Elder Gods NFT drop have higher return rates. In the game, players can generate in-game power-ups and trade them with other players.
The instant feedback loop in Web3 gaming has also allowed InfiniGods to quickly improve gameplay based on community feedback. The company recently introduced Community Merge, which allows popular projects to be developed into interactive experiences in InfiniMerge.
InfiniGods aims to make web3 gaming accessible and enjoyable for everyone while giving players the opportunity to own in-game assets. The company focuses on developing games centered around ancient mythologies and civilizations and allows players to win valuable rewards by participating and leveling up.
Damon Gura, Co-Founder and CEO of InfiniGods, said: “Merge games are popular for their simple mechanics and straightforward progression, and InfiniMerge combines all this with Web3 elements like digital collectibles and play-to-own rewards. We believe that Web3 gaming will only reach its potential if games are fun and accessible, and that’s the objective we’ve sought to achieve with InfiniMerge.”
The scarcity of digital collectibles in the game shapes gameplay and enables unique actions and rewards.
