According to Idan, the integration ensures that Fireblocks’ clients can safely explore and engage with Kava’s innovative DeFi app protocols and the broader Cosmos DeFi landscape while maintaining compliance and security standards.
Kava Chain has been steadily expanding, but its accessibility to top-tier crypto institutions was limited due to the absence of a robust connection to a multi-party computation (MPC) custody technology provider.
The Fireblocks integration now opens the door for over 1,800 leading digital asset and crypto institutions to custody KAVA tokens and access Kava-native assets, including Cosmos-native USDt, which Tether has chosen to issue exclusively on Kava Chain.
This integration not only provides institutional investors with improved access to Kava but also enables Fireblocks customers to engage in various DeFi opportunities within the Kava ecosystem, including platforms like Curve, Kinetix, and Hover. Additionally, it allows for market-making using Cosmos-native USDt on major exchanges and encourages exploration of new USDt DeFi opportunities on prominent Cosmos appchains.
Scott Stuart, Co-founder of Kava Chain, highlighted the growing significance of Kava Chain in arbitrage market making.
He emphasized that the Fireblocks integration offers centralized exchanges (CEXs) and major market makers a more capital-efficient option for cross-chain arbitrage, reducing the need for high gas fees on Ethereum by utilizing Kava to transfer USDt between ecosystems.
