PixelDebates, An NFT-powered trading card game featuring presidential debates, launches on Tezos.
What is PixelDebates?
PixelDebates is an NFT-powered trading card game featuring presidential debates.
The Play-to-Earn game is developed by the successful NFT collectible platform PixelPotus and is built on Tezos.
A quick look inside the game
In PixelDebates players can use NFTs that they collected from Pixelpotus and start building a deck with additional cards from PixelDebates.
After that, players can challenge other players to duels in the PixelDebates TCG platform.
Winners will earn rewards in PXL tokens that can be further used in the game, or traded on DEXes like Quipuswap.
Games are called Debates and will take about 5 – 10 minutes. To start, players will need to select a Champion, which is an epic level (or above) POTUS NFT from your PixelPotus NFT collection.
An interesting feature is the fact that new players can rent POTUS NFT cards from other players.
The “rent” is 5% of the PXL tokens that the player wins, paid to the POTUS lending pool. Earnings of the pool are paid to the participating owners of the NFTs in the pool.
Besides a Champion, players will need Debate Tactics NFTs. These can be acquired on PixelDebates.com.
Onboarding new players is simplified by allowing new players to play practice games without the need to own any NFTs in “Practice Mode”.
“If you want to just learn the ropes a bit without having to invest much time, the team included a practice mode where you can use any tactics cards from the current set, whether you own the underlying NFT or not.”
To get started, you will just need to sign up for a Pixel Profile at https://www.pxl.games/register.
Your Pixel Profile will be portable across all future games developed by the Pixel team. After signing up, log in at https://play.pixeldebates.com, create a deck using the deck builder, then click Practice in the Arena.
Campaign mode is available immediately. In Campaign mode, you will face four POTUS champions in a row wielding powerful decks and bent on your destruction, but if you win all four, you will be rewarded with a nice chunk of $PXL token.
Note that if you do not own at least an epic level POTUS (from https://pixelpotus.com) as the champion you choose in your deck(s), your Campaign rewards will be taxed 5% and shared with legendary level NFT owners.
Campaign mode is free to attempt once per day (as of this writing) and can be attempted again for a small fee in $PXL. If you win, you can start again the next day. New Campaign mode maps will be available in the near future.
$PXL stakes will be enabled soon, making each PVP match more interesting, as players will be able to opt-in and match with others looking for staked games. The winner takes 90% of the pot (or 85% if they used Rent-a-POTUS). The remainder is pooled and shared amongst PixelPotus unique & legendary holders.
There are many ways to be a part of the Pixel ecosystem:
Farm tactics fragments from pixeldebates.com and sell 1-Star tactics in the marketplace to new users looking to play competitively.
Build your own deck(s) and become proficient to win and earn with Campaign Mode
Match with other players in PVP mode and get ready for staked games.
Own and hold legendary or unique POTUSes from https://pixelpotus.com for some passive $PXL rewards
Farm pxlDAO with your $PXL on Crunchy (pxlDAO will be used for voting on PixelDebates features and economy changes in the near future.)
