Movement Labs, a core contributor to the Movement Network, has unveiled the winners of its two-month-long “Battle of Olympus” hackathon.

The event, which drew an astounding 2,100 project submissions from developers around the globe, showcased a wide array of next-gen solutions in DeFi, AI, SocialFi, gaming, and more.

The competition’s outcome spotlights the growing momentum behind Move, a blockchain programming language initially developed by Facebook. It has seen increasing traction among developers, surpassing the pace of adoption of Ethereum rollups and Solana.

A Breakthrough for Move-Based Blockchain

Movement Labs’ hackathon attracted a global developer base, with 85 standout projects making it to the final round. Out of these, ten projects emerged as winners across six categories, highlighting the diverse applications and innovative potential of Move-based blockchain technology.

Ali Shiekh, Lead Strategist at Movement Labs, said: “I’m truly amazed by the caliber and talent of developers from around the world who competed in The Battle of Olympus.”

“This event is just a glimpse of the Movement we’re building, and I’m incredibly proud of all the builders who took part,” he said.

“Battle of Olympus” hackathon Winning projects:

  • StakedMove, a liquid staking token enhancing network security and yield opportunities
  • Gasyard, a gas optimization protocol designed to streamline DeFi transactions
  • PicWe, an Omni-chain liquidity infrastructure, facilitating seamless asset transfers across the Movement ecosystem.
  • RNDM, an AI-powered modular liquidity solution aimed at reshaping automated market-making
  • Podium, a Web3 social audio platform that integrates community-moderated discussions
  • Seekers Alliance, a skill-based trading card game with unique NFT mechanics
  • Simemes, a meme-powered social gaming platform, blending viral internet culture with blockchain gaming.
  • Movide, an advanced online IDE for Move, accelerating development on the Movement network.
  • Scaffold Move, a toolkit for building dapps, lowering barriers to entry for developers in the Movement ecosystem.

A Boost for Innovation and Ecosystem Growth

Movement Labs is pushing the boundaries of blockchain development with its focus on making Move-based technology more accessible. The winners of the Battle of Olympus will receive grants of up to $100,000 from the Movement Foundation and exclusive access to the Move Collective accelerator program, among other benefits. This support is geared toward fostering blockchain innovation and expanding the Movement ecosystem.

These projects will also gain access to the network’s substantial $160 million total value locked (TVL) ahead of its mainnet launch. Movement Labs’ Series A funding round earlier this year, which raised $38 million, further emphasizes its ambitious plans to bring Facebook’s Move Virtual Machine to Ethereum and broaden its applications in the blockchain space.

Move: A Catalyst for Change in Blockchain

Move’s design has already positioned it as a solution to some of the most critical issues in blockchain technology, addressing nearly 90% of auditor-prioritized attack vectors and exploits.

As the Movement Network prepares for its mainnet launch, the success of the Battle of Olympus hackathon serves as a clear indicator of the growing developer enthusiasm around Move’s capabilities.

The projects emerging from this competition are likely to demonstrate the language’s potential to reshape decentralized applications and the future of blockchain infrastructure.

With these developments, Movement Labs continues to solidify its position as a key player in the growing Move-based blockchain ecosystem.
