Blockchain technology continues to evolve and take the world by storm. Today, Venom, a Layer-1 blockchain operating out of Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), announced that its public testnet is officially live. This is a significant milestone in Venom’s roadmap towards its mainnet launch. In conjunction with the launch, Venom also revealed several in-house developed decentralized applications (dApps) as part of its growing ecosystem.
The testnet was designed to cater to both ecosystem users and developers, enabling developers to test and debug dApps and blockchain protocols while allowing users to experience them firsthand. This program’s objective is to foster innovation and community building within the ecosystem.
To try out the testnet, developers and users can follow two simple steps. First, they can download the Venom Wallet from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store on mobile or as a Google Chrome extension on desktop. Second, they can kickstart their journey by claiming a free testnet allocation.
Peter Knez, Chair of the Venom Foundation Council, said: “With our highly scalable and reliable asynchronous blockchain, we’re confident that developers will be able to build innovative dApps, while users will be able to experience them firsthand.”
Developers will have the opportunity to build on the asynchronous Venom blockchain, which boasts an ultra-fast speed of 100k TPS and a dynamic sharding feature that enhances scalability and network reliability. To help developers get started, Venom has curated a repository of developer documentation to provide them with the necessary tools and knowledge.
Venom’s network is highly interoperable, making it an attractive tool for developers. Its low transaction fees also make it user-friendly and suitable for global adoption.
Several dApps will make their debut on the Venom testnet, including the Venom Wallet, Venom Scan, VenomPools, Venom Bridge, Venom Stake, Web3.World, WeUp, NFT Mint, and Oasis.Gallery. Users can test these dApps by performing transactions and trying out the native Venom wallet, among other things.
Venom’s public testnet launch and the accompanying dApps are sure to spark innovation and creativity within the blockchain community. The blockchain’s highly scalable and reliable asynchronous structure, combined with its interoperability and low transaction fees, is expected to attract developers and users worldwide.
