Mighty Bear Games (MBG), a Singapore-based gaming studio, has appointed a COO, a Head of Growth, a Web3 Lead, a Head of Finance and Partnerships, a Lead Concept Artist, and a Senior Back-End Developer to support the development of the next generation of multi-platform, accessible, and genre-defining games.
Assaf Cohen (COO), Karolina Cooper (Head of Growth), Michael Arnold (Web3 Lead), Teri Tan (Head of Finance and Partnerships), Aaron Quist (Lead Concept Artist), and Hamed Asadi (Senior Back-End Developer) have joined MBG team.
MBG has launched five mobile games on the Apple App and Google Play stores, two of which were developed in partnership with Apple and Disney. Last year, the studio raised $10m to pivot to decentralized gaming and develop Mighty Action Heroes, its sixth gaming title.
MBG’s COO, Assaf Cohen, commented that MBG’s aim was to build a decentralized gaming ecosystem that empowered players through digital ownership.
The company is creating the MightyNet ecosystem, a collection of interoperable games and experiences focused on meeting player needs first.
The CEO and Co-Founder of MBG, Simon Davis, added that the company’s inclusive corporate culture was tackling accessibility and playability issues simultaneously.
DappRadar reported that investment in decentralized gaming remained high, with a total of $156 million invested in blockchain gaming and metaverse projects. It also recorded a 124% increase in trading volume and a 157% increase in sales on the Polygon network.
Mighty Bear Games was founded by a team of industry veterans with experience at the likes of King, Ubisoft, Lucasarts, EA, Gameloft, and Disney.
The studio has sold out two sets of digital collectibles: the Genesis Pass, enabling access to the MightyNet ecosystem, and the Big Bear Syndicate, a dedicated Mighty Action Heroes collection. Mighty Action Heroes is just the start of MBG’s vision, and the studio continues to grow with the right talent in place to build a fun and decentralized gaming ecosystem.
