NEW YORK, June 17, 2022 / AlexaBlockchain/ – Leading NFT art agency, ArtRepublic Global is excited to announce it’s hosting an immersive digital art exhibition for the fourth annual NFT.NYC conference later this month. “The Space Between Us” NFT exhibit event takes place on June 20, 2022, at TAO Downtown (369 W 16th St, New York, NY 10011) for invited patrons, artists and collectors. The curation will deliver important works by emerging, blue chip and culturally relevant artists like AnneVieux, Jesse Woolston and Steve Sweatpants. A public preview will be held earlier that day from 5-8pm at Samsung 837 experiential store for its campaign to inspire the creative community. ArtRepublic will sell the works on its new marketplace, built with event partner and the world’s most decentralized, secure, carbon negative blockchain, Algorand.
“This is a collection of artists who have mastered the ability to lead us through experiences and show us the value of our emotions and the power of wellbeing,” said Jessica Santiago, CEO and Curator of ArtRepublic Global. “With elegance, purpose, and intent, these artists offer us moments to embrace the space between us.”
ArtRepublic and artistic production team, Moda Display, will transform the iconic TAO flagship nightclub into a bespoke digital museum with Samsung displays, cocktail reception and live musical performance by special guest and Harlem native, Dave East, who will drop his art NFT collab at the event. The New York native rapper and actor was signed by hip hop legend, Nas, to his record label, Mass Appeal Records, and later with Def Jam Recordings. The former college basketball star also portrayed Method Man in Hulu series Wu-Tang: An American Saga in 2019 and was recently featured in the Kith campaign for the USA Olympic Team collection.
Unique to the Dave East NFT drop is placing the art collection on a STOI, a micro-DAO (m-DAO) that tokenises fractional ownership and automates revenue distribution among owners, fans, and rights holders. Much like ArtRepublic’s goal to democratize art ownership and Algorand democratizing access to the power of the blockchain for the creative class, STOI’s goal is to democratize ownership with creators and their fans. STOI technology was conceived by digital music pioneer George Howard and co-created with dApp studio NCC, who built the technology with funding from the Algorand Foundation.
The exhibit is highlighted on the NFT.NYC satellite event calendar and will offer conference goers an enlightened perspective of the impact digital fine art can have on community. This experiential IRL event is part of ArtRepublic’s Modern Patronage initiative. Founder, Jessica Santiago, is no stranger to curating and entertaining in the arts. Her agency has been representing digital artists since 2016 after recognizing early on the wellness impact immersive art can have. She is highly regarded as a leading female NFT curator and set the tone for digital fine art curation at last year’s Miami Art Basel (See highlights here).
