Play-to-Earn metaverse builder Atmos Labs has raised $11 million in a seed funding round led by NFT-focused VC firm Sfermion.
The Chicago headquartered Atmos Labs is building a competition-based virtual world set in an expansive sci-fi universe and built to accelerate the advent of metaverse-native sports.
The seed funding round also attracted prominent investors Animoca Brands, Collab+Currency, FBG Capital, Alumni Ventures, RedBeard Ventures, DWeb3, LD Capital, GSR Markets Limited, CoinGecko Ventures, Avocado Guild, UniX Gaming, and others.
The compnay plans to use the new funds to build the foundation of the virtual game world of Atmos, grow its community, and expand the Atmos team.
Led by Founder and CEO Kevin Beauregard, Atmos is building an expansive, play-to-earn metaverse experience with strong economics, deep lore, and high-octane gameplay.
The new game is being built by a team of technologists, entrepreneurs, community builders, design experts, and gaming fanatics. Through NFTs, DeFi, and the principles of the emerging metaverse, Atmos players will not only play, but actually own their gear, teams, identities, and moments.
CEO Kevin Beauregard states that Atmos is more than just a game you play — it’s a world you own. Kevin believes that people are going to congregate around the spectacle of competition in the metaverse just like they do in the physical world. “We are building metaverse-native sports and entertainment — a category we believe will bring excitement and substance to the metaverse concept writ large,” kevin said.
Atmos revealed in a press statement received by AlexaBlockchain, It will launch a transmedia campaign in the coming months to outline and explore canonical lore and drop an initial lot of playable items.
