The prestigious Miami Fashion Week returns after two years, marking its entry into the metaverse with avatar models and NFTs.
Miami Fashion Week has partnered with Metaverse Group, a Tokens.com subsidiary, to host Fashion Week events in the Metaverse on its renown Fashion Street Estate.
Headquarters in Decentraland’s CryptoValley, The Metaverse Group is a vertically integrated NFT based Metaverse real estate company.
The Metverse Group holds an eight-figure real estate portfolio spanning over 10 Metaverses. It offers a range of services and can deliver a wide variety of offerings including hosting and designing shows and events, NFT creation and sales events, design, and architecture services, and advising.
Andrew Kiguel, CEO of Tokens.com and Metaverse Group Executive Chair, said:
“Our Fashion Estate has become a pillar in the virtual fashion community and a popular virtual destination to host Metaverse fashion events. We are bridging virtual and physical events to give people access to exclusive events. Metaverse Group continues to solidify its position as a trusted one-stop shop for all things Metaverse and continues to develop the space and expertly guide new clients into this new internet era.”
From May 31st to June 5th, Miami Fashion Week will take place in the physical world, with a digital L’Atelier set to debut at Decentraland’s Luxury Fashion District, which is owned and built by Metaverse Group.
The L’Atelier will be available to the public for the first time from June 3rd to June 5th, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. This year’s Miami Fashion Week will be the Fashion Estate’s second event, with further events scheduled for the rest of the year.
Lorne Sugarman, CEO of Metaverse Group, said:
“We are excited to add the L’Atelier to the Luxury Fashion District in Decentraland. We are continuing to work with the luxury brands currently inhabiting the Fashion District along with new brands looking to join the Metaverse community.”
What can you expect at the Miami Fashion Week’s metaverse event?
The Metaverse event at Miami Fashion Week will provide attendees with an immersive experience that includes fashion displays, catwalks, and avatar models, as well as direct links to purchase virtual goods via marketplace for quick and seamless transactions.
The ramp will feature DRESSX in collaboration with MTA Kollectiff. A revelation will also take place inside the L’Atelier, where participants can sign up for a whitelisting spot for ‘The Key’ NFT later this year.
The key is membership in Miami Fashion Week, which grants access to a slew of privileges in both the physical and digital realms. Guests will also notice Barbara Hulanicki’s fashion illustration NFTs on the L’Atelier’s walls, which are for sale.
Megan Kaspar of Red DAO and Miami Fashion Week advisor, said:
“Miami Fashion Week is the first global fashion week to bridge the physical-first fashion industry to digital-first Web3 designers and brands together through several Metaverse Group powered Metaverse experiences and activations congruent with the week’s events.”
“There is no better city than Miami to lead the digital-first fashion industry revolution. Major Suarez and his team have made impactful strides to cultivate Miami as the most technologically innovative city in the world.”
A sustainability discussion with DRESSX will be live streamed from the physical Miami Fashion Week site on the L’Atelier rooftop to round out the event on Sunday, June 5th, encouraging both physical and virtual attendance.
“Miami Fashion Week contributes to the mayor’s initiative while paving the way to environmentally and socially sustainable practices for the fashion industry as a whole,” Megan said.
Miami Fashion Week is held in Miami, which has evolved into the predominant link between the USA and Latin America.
