Studio 369 has unveiled the “Barony” system, a groundbreaking guild program for its upcoming AAA mech shooter, MetalCore. The system introduces self-governed, in-game factions that promise to enhance player collaboration and competition.

Studio 369, the creators behind the eagerly awaited AAA title MetalCore, has unveiled the Barony system. This new guild program empowers players to establish autonomous in-game factions known as Baronies, promising a revolution in both strategy and community dynamics.

According to Matt Candler, CEO of Studio 369, this feature enables gamers to create their own powerful in-game nations and forge their destiny through unity and loyalty.

“Only those banding together in mighty Baronies will be able to claim dominance on the war-torn battlefields of Kerberos,” Matt said.

Baronies allow players to pool resources, accelerate progression, and strategize for unprecedented player-vs-player (PvP) encounters on the war-torn terrain of Kerberos.

Features of the Barony System:

  • Competitive Edge: Baronies provide access to PvP leaderboards with weekly rewards, enhancing the competitive spirit among players.
  • Custom Challenges: Players can craft unique quests specific to their Barony, adding a personalized touch to the gaming experience.
  • Enhanced Perks: Members enjoy higher tiers of account perks and access to ultra-rare reward drops.
  • Economic Opportunities: Baronies have the ability to rent out in-game assets, creating a micro-economy within the game.

Central to the Barony system are its exclusive perks, which promise a wealth of competitive advantages. Participants gain access to bespoke PvP leaderboards, where weekly rewards await the most valorous factions. Additionally, Baronies can tailor unique quests and challenges, ensuring that each faction’s narrative unfolds uniquely amidst the chaos of battle.

Furthermore, higher echelons within these factions—such as Supreme Barons, Ministers, Knights, and Initiates—shape a dynamic hierarchy that mirrors real-world governance. Premium Baronies, at the pinnacle of this structure, enjoy enhanced privileges, including access to exclusive in-game events.

Already, the concept has garnered immense interest from over 100 million gamers, including prominent guilds like Yield Guild Games (YGG), W3GG, Perion, Merit Circle, Ancient8 Gaming, Perion and Avocado DAO, who have begun laying the groundwork for their prospective Baronies. As early adopters, these guilds stand to benefit from accelerated unlocking, enabling them to consolidate power swiftly as MetalCore nears its full release on PC and the Epic Games Store.

“Baronies represent a true democratization of gameplay, putting the ability to form powerful in-game factions into the hands of players themselves. The potential for emergent gameplay and epic collective storytelling is limitless,” Matt said.

The rollout of the Barony system is slated to commence in Q3 2024 ahead of MetalCore’s full release on PC and the Epic Games Store.
