Key Takeaways

  • VeChain has launched its new Marketplace-as-a-Service (MaaS) platform, a white-label digital asset platform providing businesses with the infrastructure to easily deploy marketplaces of their own.
  • In tandem with the launch, VeChain is also announcing its first enterprise partner to deploy a marketplace on the platform: Italian MotoGP team Gresini Racing. Its marketplace will host Gresini IP-specific NFT-based content.
  • MaaS is a testament to VeChain’s commitment to providing no-code blockchain platforms to streamline the adoption of blockchain technology, similar to its no-code developer tool, VORJ.

VeChain has launched Marketplace-as-a-Service (MaaS) a new platform designed to empower both businesses and individuals by providing a no-code solution for creating NFT marketplaces, catering to the burgeoning demand for tools that facilitate the tokenization of real-world assets.

In a striking demonstration of MaaS’ potential, VeChain has already secured a partnership with the renowned Italian MotoGP team, Gresini Racing, and blockchain firm ExPlus. This collaboration heralds the debut of the first enterprise marketplace on the MaaS platform, featuring a unique collection of intellectual property (IP)-related content aimed at Gresini Racing’s extensive online following.

Carlo Merlini, Gresini Racing’s Commercial and Marketing Director, highlighted the move as a step towards engaging more deeply with their fanbase and the wider MotoGP community through Web3 technologies.

The initiative aims to offer fans exclusive NFT-based content, including memorable experiences and digital collectibles that celebrate Gresini Racing’s illustrious history and the legacy of its founder, Fausto Gresini.

Looking ahead, VeChain’s MaaS platform plans to integrate NFC technology to facilitate the creation of ‘phygitals’, bridging the gap between physical products and digital identities through NFTs. This innovation will provide a seamless method for businesses and brands to tokenize real-world products, enhancing authenticity, provenance, and digital communication.

Jake Campton, VeChain’s Communications Lead, emphasized the significance of this launch as a step towards simplifying the adoption of blockchain technology.

He pointed out that the collaboration with Gresini Racing exemplifies how companies unfamiliar with Web3 can easily access and benefit from blockchain’s advantages, reinforcing the technology’s real-world utility.

Gabriele Vedani, Founder and Chairman of ExPlus, also commented on the initiative, reflecting on the synergy between VeChain’s MaaS and the digital community’s passion for sports and cultural heritage.

The introduction of MaaS continues VeChain’s tradition of delivering user-friendly blockchain solutions, such as VORJ, a no-code development platform that has simplified the process of deploying digital assets.

The adoption of MaaS and similar technologies is expected to drive the tokenization of real-world assets further, offering new avenues for product authentication, proof of provenance, and digital marketing strategies.

This development arrives amidst a growing interest in asset tokenization, as illustrated by BlackRock’s recent announcement of a new real-world asset (RWA) tokenization fund on the Ethereum network. The asset management giant has also made strategic investments in asset tokenization company Securitize.

VeChain’s MaaS platform, through its no-code approach and the integration of advanced technologies, is likely to play a crucial role in expanding the blockchain’s practical applications across various industries.
