Decentralized self-custody wallets have been gaining popularity in recent years due to the increased demand for a more secure and private way to store and manage digital assets. These wallets allow users to be in control of their funds without relying on a centralized authority. This gives users greater privacy and security, which are critical factors in the world of cryptocurrency.

VeChain Foundation has recognized the growing importance of these wallets and has launched its own fully decentralized self-custody crypto wallet called VeWorld.

The wallet is available as a Chrome browser extension and has a user-friendly interface that makes it easy to manage crypto portfolios, send and receive crypto, and securely transact on decentralized applications (DApps).

One of the key features of VeWorld is its support for the VeChainThor blockchain, which is a leading smart contract platform that is spearheading the real-world adoption of blockchain technology.

The VeChainThor blockchain has delivered solutions in a wide array of fields, and with the launch of VeWorld, users can now take advantage of the platform’s capabilities with a secure and user-friendly wallet.

In addition to its support for VeChainThor, VeWorld also has an extensive roadmap of features that are planned for release on a bi-weekly cadence by a dedicated team of Foundation developers. These features include a carbon calculator, direct fiat on-ramp, native NFT integration, DEX integration, and bridge integration.

The carbon calculator, in particular, is a unique feature that allows users and enterprises to track their associated carbon emissions. This demonstrates VeChain Foundation’s commitment to building technologies and ecosystems to drive sustainability and digital transformation at a global scale.

The launch of VeWorld is a significant step forward for the VeChain ecosystem and for the growing importance of decentralized self-custody wallets in general. As more people and enterprises adopt blockchain technology, the demand for secure and user-friendly wallets is only going to increase, and VeChain Foundation is well-positioned to meet this demand with the launch of VeWorld.

Mobile and desktop versions of VeWorld are expected to be available in Q3 2023.

The wallet is available from https://www.veworld.net as a Chrome browser extension.
