The Indian Art Fair 2022
The Indian Art Fair (IAF) is South Asia’s leading modern and contemporary art event – which is being held at NSIC Grounds in New Delhi.
India Art Fair 2022 was rescheduled from 3-6 February to 28 April-1 May due to restrictions issued by the Indian government with the Omicron variant of Covid-19 spreads across the country.
75 galleries and institutions are exhibiting at IAF 2022. This is slightly down from the 81 that participated in IAF 2020, the fair’s last physical edition, which took place shortly before the onset of the global pandemic.
International galleries that are taking part in the rescheduled event include neugerriemschneider (Berlin) and Grosvenor Gallery (London). They are joined by many of India’s largest galleries including Chemould Prescott Road, Nature Morte and Chatterjee & Lal, as well as less-established spaces such as Exhibit320 (New Delhi) and Apre Art House (Mumbai).
Walk through the India Art Fair in the metaverse
Thanks to advancements in the Web3 and metaverse spaces, the annual event can now be accessed from anywhere in the world. The art festival’s thirteenth edition has made its mark not just on the NSIC grounds in New Delhi, but also in the metaverse.
All you need is an active internet connection to enjoy the excitement of the India Art Fair. It is not necessary to have AR or VR equipment, but but it makes the experience more immersive.
Visitors can register for the art fair in the metaverse by clicking the link https://metaverse.indiaartfair.in/, following which they can choose a display name for their avatar or digital persona, which will be visible to other IAF participants in the metaverse.

NFT Primer and Giveaways
Tezos India and BeFantastic have collaborated on this effort to welcome visitors into the world of digital art with the goal of imparting education about NFTs and producing a superior Web3 experience.
A number of special digital art NFTs are being shown on the screens at the booth set-up by BeFantastic and Tezos India, acting as an inspiration to emerging artists who want to build a name for themselves in the business. Additionally, there are NFT giveaways where anyone can scan QR codes using the Naan Wallet app and receive NFTs in their wallet in under 5 minutes.
Naan Wallet app enables new Tezos users to quickly onboard the world of cryptocurrencies, non-fungible tokens, and decentralised apps (dApps). Naan users can see and trade digital assets, sign messages, send transactions, and store NFTs on the go after downloading the app. Furthermore, owing to a relationship with Wert, users can buy tez using a credit card.
Among the innovative art project-based NFTs being highlighted as giveaways here include –
- Whale tales: An art project that uses AI-generated imagery to interactively present stories about the role whales play in mitigating Climate Change.
- Earthling meditations: An interactive online experience that acts as a tool to meditate upon and collectively explore complex feelings around Climate Change, based on contemplative practices centred around nature, mindfulness and community, in a bid to activate individual Climate action.
- Radbots: An NFT collection of conversational videobots created by leading playwrights, artists and screenwriters from India, Sri Lanka, the UK and Germany. This project gives voice to characters from traditionally under-represented communities, both economically and in the tech-sector, enabling them to interact with their audiences.
Speaking at Tezos India’s strategic participation at the Indian Art Fair 2022, Om Malviya, President, Tezos India said:

During the session Mr. Om Malviya, President, Tezos India will be participating along with Aparajita Jain, Director of Nature Morte, Founder of Terrain.art; Raghava KK (Artist) and Vasundhara Das, Actor, Musician & Radbot Creator, addressing some of the burning questions as to the opportunities and challenges of the field, and how this space interacts with traditional art economies, alongside other ways it might impact humanity through our everyday lives.
