London, July 8, 2024 / AlexaBlockchain/ – Following two successful editions filled with engaging discussions, TezDev, the annual conference of the Tezos ecosystem that brings together developers, project leaders, and blockchain enthusiasts, is back on July 11. This free event will be held for the first time in Brussels, at the Royal Library of Belgium (KBR), just a stone’s throw from the Ethereum Community Conference (ETHCC).
This event coincides with a critical period for Web3, as the MiCA regulation begins its phased implementation on June 30. According to the third annual study by Adan and KPMG, 2024 marks the beginning of structured adoption around blockchain, Web3, and cryptocurrency technologies, with Europeans increasingly understanding their applications beyond mere investment, in areas such as payments, digital identity, the Digital Product Passport (DPP), the video game industry, and environmental initiatives.
TezDev: The Annual Gathering of the Tezos Ecosystem
TezDev is a day of exchanges and meetings led by the passionate blockchain and Web3 communities. This event is an opportunity to review the latest technological advances and for project leaders, creators, developers, and innovators shaping Tezos to showcase their achievements within the ecosystem. In 2024, Tezos continues its technological evolution, notably with the launch of Etherlink, a decentralized EVM compatible on Layer 2.
The “Paris” upgrade, the sixteenth protocol upgrade, approved and activated by the community on June 5, introduced substantial technological advancements such as the Data Availability Layer (DAL), which significantly increases the throughput of Smart Rollups on Layer 2, unlocking new use cases in gaming, ticketing, and services requiring faster transactions. Other significant improvements include the reduction in the time to create new blocks from 15 to just 10 seconds, further reducing latency for faster transaction speeds.
