sCrypt, a full-stack Web3/blockchain development platform, has launched a new developer toolkit tailored for Unspent Transaction Output (UTXO) blockchains. This toolkit aims to transform how developers engage with UTXO blockchains, making them more accessible and fostering creativity within the Web3 space.

The UTXO model, fundamental to Bitcoin’s protocol, tracks balances as they transfer between digital wallets, ensuring security and integrity while addressing the double-spend problem. With sCrypt’s new tools, developers can now seamlessly integrate UTXO blockchains into their applications, leveraging a robust framework that simplifies complex blockchain interactions.

sCrypt’s platform offers comprehensive Software Development Kits (SDKs) and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). This enables developers to build and operate on UTXO blockchains using their existing JavaScript/TypeScript skills. This integration opens vast opportunities for the estimated 13 million JavaScript/TypeScript developers globally, empowering them to innovate and succeed in the Web3 landscape.

Xiaohui Liu, Founder and CEO at sCrypt, mentioned that Web3 applications have predominantly been developed on account-based blockchains like Ethereum and Solana. Ordinals have brought renewed development interest back to Bitcoin and UTXO blockchains.

“With our extensive developer tooling and infrastructure, it is now easier than ever to build on UTXO blockchains, empowering builders to unleash UTXO’s superior scalability and programmability,” Liu added.

The SDK provided by sCrypt includes libraries in various programming languages, detailed documentation, and tutorials. This toolkit offers a flexible and robust framework for leveraging payments, tokens, and smart contracts. The APIs facilitate reading from and writing to blockchains without the need for developers to set up and maintain their nodes and indexers, allowing them to focus on the business logic of their decentralized applications (dApps).

Notably, sCrypt’s platform is chain-agnostic, enabling developers to concentrate on application development rather than blockchain specifics. This approach is designed to power Web3 growth, helping developers build and scale their dApps efficiently by leveraging UTXO’s unparalleled scalability and programmability.

Several companies are already utilizing sCrypt’s platform, including Dotswap, the first BRC20 token swap platform on Bitcoin, which leverages sCrypt’s APIs for fast and seamless token exchanges. TierTop, a BTC trading platform supporting Ordinals NFTs and BRC-20 tokens, also relies on sCrypt’s token APIs. Other notable users include Tokenovate, which manages trading lifecycle events of derivatives using sCrypt’s smart contracts, and innovative applications like Hodlocker, Order Lock by RelayXTokenized1Sat Ordinals and Yours Wallet.
