Movement Labs has unveiled the “Battle of Olympus” hackathon, set to commence on July 17, 2024. This two-month event is positioned at the forefront of Movement Labs’ ambitious Testnet phase, offering a unique platform for developers to shape the future of the modular network of Move-based blockchains named Movement.

The hackathon serves as the launchpad for the “Road to Parthenon” initiative, aimed at building a thriving ecosystem around Movement Labs’ anticipated mainnet. With the backing of 280 Capital and a consortium of industry partners, the event promises a blend of competition and collaboration, fostering a fertile ground for innovation.

Developers will find themselves part of a gamified experience within the “Masons” guild—one of five distinct guilds tailored for participants. This particular guild challenges its members to devise cutting-edge decentralized applications (dApps) in diverse domains such as decentralized finance (DeFi), gaming, social tools, infrastructure, and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Participants, allowed to form teams of up to four, can join the fray either virtually from anywhere in the world or physically in San Francisco. Movement Labs has committed to providing comprehensive support and resources throughout the hackathon, enhancing the participants’ ability to succeed and innovate.

An esteemed panel of judges will evaluate the entries, with criteria focusing on concept originality, technical prowess, and potential market impact, among others. Winners can anticipate attractive rewards, highlighting the hackathon’s role not just as a competition, but as a catalyst for market-ready blockchain solutions.

However, the Battle of Olympus is not solely for coders and tech aficionados. Movement Labs is calling on a wider community of enthusiasts through four additional guilds:

  • Pathfinders, who will craft onboarding guides and spearhead community engagement initiatives.
  • Creators, tasked with generating Movement-related content and contributing to its narrative.
  • Explorers, who will liaise with partners and analyze ecosystem data.
  • Scholars, focused on educational content and collaborative research about the Movement ecosystem.

Cooper Scanlon, Co-Founder of Movement Labs, said: “The Battle of Olympus offers unique opportunities for our entire community to get involved based on their skills and interests. Whether you’re a developer or an enthusiast, we’re providing the tools and support needed to innovate and shape the decentralized landscape.”

The Battle of Olympus will run from July 17 to September 17, 2024 and winners will be announced in mid-September. for registration visit http://olympus.movementlabs.xyz
