Kintsugi Global, Inc. has launched animedomains.com, a digital marketplace that brings together anime and manga fans from around the world.

In partnership with Unstoppable Domains, the platform allows anime and manga creators in Japan to directly engage with their fan community through live chats, Q&A sessions, and drawing sessions. This enables creators to tap into untapped markets overseas and gather public interest in their work, leading to new merchandising opportunities.

The platform aims to be a one-stop shop for creators and fans, making a wide range of content available globally.

Users can join animedomains.com and purchase personal web3 domains with .anime or .manga extensions using fiat or cryptocurrency.

The domains, available at various price points ranging from $40 to $1 million, can be used as personal websites and digital wallet hosts. If valuable enough, the domains can also be sold as non-fungible tokens (NFTs). These domains will serve as exclusive log-in credentials for Kintsugi’s platform, which offers manga subscriptions, anime streaming, games, e-commerce stores, and social features that connect fans worldwide.

The platform’s transparency, based on web3 and blockchain technology, allows users to have control over their data and monitor where crowdfunding money is allocated. Users’ data and privacy are prioritized, giving them full control over what they share.

The domain purchased on the platform becomes their digital identity for the metaverse, compatible with other web3 platforms. Kintsugi’s partnerships with Unstoppable Domains ensure compatibility with around 95% of existing web3-based platforms.

Ronald Scovil, chairman, CEO, and co-founder of Kintsugi, acknowledges that many anime and manga creators in Japan struggle to earn a fair income for their efforts. The platform aims to address this by connecting creators directly with fans, allowing fans to support their favorite titles and contributing to raising wages and improving conditions in the anime and manga industry. Moreover, if sufficient fan interest is generated through the platform, it could lead to the greenlighting of new animated series or manga, and it also serves as a crowdfunding tool.
