According to a report from IBM, 79% of all consumers today state it is important for brands to provide guaranteed authenticity, like certifications, when they’re purchasing goods. By adding a layer of secure verification, consumers can certify every item transaction, while providing peace of mind of authentication. Blockchain technology is enabling this space and a unique instance is with Indri, India’s award-winning single malt whisky brand. Indri has partnered with Virtualness, a leading blockchain and GenAI-powered authentication platform, to provide verification of an exclusive collection of bottles of Indri’s Game Of Thrones House Of The Dragon Edition – House Of Black and House Of Green.

Indri in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products recently announced two collectable whisky bottles inspired by the Game of Thrones franchise – the ‘House of the Dragon’ Exclusive Edition.

Each bottle of Indri’s Game of Thrones ‘House of The Dragon’ Exclusive Edition will come with a unique Non-Fungible Token (NFT) blockchain-enabled certificate. This certificate, accessible via a QR code scan on the back of the bottle, allows for instant verification of the product’s provenance and ownership.

Siddhartha Sharma, Founder of Piccadily Distilleries, a unit of Piccadily Agro Industries Limited, highlighted the significance of this partnership: “This collaboration exemplifies Indri’s commitment to innovation and delivering exceptional experiences to our customers. By partnering with Virtualness, we are ensuring that customers receive verifiability by claiming their certificate of ownership when purchasing any bottle of our Game of Thrones ‘House of The Dragon’ Exclusive Edition.”

The blockchain-enabled certificates are designed not only to secure ownership records but also to foster social engagement. Customers can share their certificates on social media platforms, showcasing their ownership of these limited-edition bottles and connecting with a community of fellow enthusiasts.

Kirthiga Reddy and Saurabh Doshi, co-founders of Virtualness, said: “This partnership marks a significant milestone in the authentication of luxury goods. By harnessing token-enabled blockchain technology, Indri is setting a new standard in the premium spirits industry worldwide while fostering deeper connections within their community.”

The integration of blockchain technology in this collaboration sets a new precedent for the spirits industry, demonstrating how advanced technology can elevate consumer trust and secure ownership records.

“As blockchain adoption continues to grow, Indri and Virtualness pave the way for a more secure and trustworthy experience for whisky enthusiasts worldwide,” the company said in a statement.

With this innovative approach, Indri not only enhances its product offerings but also strengthens its position as a forward-thinking leader in the premium spirits market.
