Eden Games, a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, today announced the beta launch of Cosmic Royale, a new Web3 party royale kart racing game.

Eden Games mentioned that Cosmic Royale is built as part of Animoca Brands’ Motorverse. Motorverse is a global ecosystem of digital vehicle ownership, racing games and motorsport culture.

Eden Games, renowned for its classic racing titles like Gear.Club and V-Rally, brings its decades-long expertise to the Web3 domain with Cosmic Royale.

The gaming studio, which boasts over 15 million game boxes sold and more than 75 million app downloads across 17 published games, aims to blend traditional gaming excellence with blockchain features.

Cosmic Royale promises a thrilling gaming experience with its 40-player matches, where participants race through multiple rounds filled with racing challenges and obstacles, culminating in a survival finale. The game centers around the Cosmic Tournament, a head-to-head multiplayer event where the last player standing emerges victorious after several qualifying rounds. This unique “party royale” twist is designed to keep players engaged and on the edge of their seats.

In an ambitious move, Eden Games has partnered with Mocaverse to launch the beta version of Cosmic Royale. This partnership grants access to the game to all Moca ID holders, a community that includes approximately one million users. Notably, Mocaverse PFP owners can use their profile picture (PFP) avatars as in-game drivers, adding a personalized touch to their racing experience.

Beta participants can earn Realm Points (RP), which serve as loyalty points for Moca ID holders. These points can be deposited on the Mocaverse platform to multiply them, with high-scoring players having the chance to appear on leaderboards and receive RP rewards. These rewards will later be converted into MOCA Coin, an omni-chain token launched by the MOCA Foundation.

David Nadal, Creative Director at Eden Games, said: “We’re tremendously excited to finally unveil Cosmic Royale and welcome hundreds of thousands of players to participate in the Cosmic Tournament and earn exciting rewards. Better yet, each player can truly personalize their experience by importing their custom drivers and karts thanks to our collaboration with various PFP collections, making each racer’s story unique and memorable.”

While the beta is exclusive to Moca ID holders via the Cosmic Royale website, the full launch scheduled for Q4 2024 will be accessible to all players, regardless of NFT or token ownership, and will be available for free on the Epic Games Store.

Kenneth Shek, Project Lead for Mocaverse, highlighted the collaborative nature of the project: “Mocaverse was built to unite players across the world, offering them a unified, inclusive, and diverse gaming ecosystem. Our collaboration with Eden Games is a great example of the benefits that Web3-native interoperability is enabling, and we are thrilled to invite hundreds of thousands of Moca ID holders to the exciting world of Cosmic Royale.”
