Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, is preparing to commemorate the 13th anniversary of Bitcoin Pizza Day, an event that took place in 2010 when two pizzas were purchased for 10,000 BTC. In recognition of this momentous occasion and its significant impact on the cryptocurrency industry, Binance has organized a series of events and contests to engage its community.

The celebrations will kick off on May 21 in Naples, Italy, the birthplace of pizza. Binance has arranged in-person meet-ups in ten countries, including Brazil, Bahrain, Pakistan, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Uruguay, Mexico, Argentina, and New Zealand. These meet-ups will involve takeovers of local pizzerias and pizza vans, providing participants with an opportunity to engage with fellow crypto enthusiasts and enjoy free pizza, alongside fun activities, rewards, and giveaways.

For those unable to attend the physical events, Binance has planned online activities accessible through social media and its app. Participants are encouraged to share pictures of their Binance-themed pizzas using the hashtag #BinancePizza or complete tasks on the Binance app to collect all the Pizza Flavours. By participating, individuals stand a chance to win the crypto equivalent of a year’s supply of pizza.

Additionally, Binance will host a virtual live meet-up on May 22 at 12:00 PM UTC. The event will feature CZ, Binance’s CEO, along with prominent Binance Feed creators. Together, they will engage in discussions centered around the significance of Bitcoin Pizza Day and its profound impact on the crypto industry.

Yi He, Binance co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer, emphasized the importance of Bitcoin Pizza Day as a testament to the power of community and the growing acceptance of Bitcoin in everyday life. He stated, “At Binance, we believe in the importance of mass adoption, and we are committed to creating more and more use cases for crypto in everyday situations. As more people recognize the value and potential of blockchain and crypto, our community grows stronger, and we continue to build our industry.”

The global meet-ups organized by Binance will offer a diverse range of activities, rewards, and giveaways, with complimentary pizza being a highlight. Each city will tailor its event to cater to the local community. For example, in Naples, the first 500 registered participants will be treated to free “Binance style” pizza and beverages. Furthermore, they will have the opportunity to showcase their pizza-making skills in a contest for a chance to win exciting Binance prizes.

Bitcoin Pizza Day holds significant importance as a milestone in the crypto industry, signifying its remarkable growth and setting the stage for the widespread adoption of digital currencies over the past 13 years. Binance, in its pursuit of expanding financial freedom, views this celebration as an opportunity to reinforce its community bonds and promote further adoption of blockchain technology.

As Binance remains committed to increasing the freedom of money, the exchange strives to create numerous use cases for cryptocurrencies in everyday life. By providing engaging events and opportunities for its community, Binance aims to strengthen the relationships among crypto enthusiasts and drive the adoption of blockchain technology.

This year, Binance is celebrating Bitcoin Pizza Day alongside its deserving and empowered community, demonstrating its unwavering dedication to the continuous growth and advancement of the crypto industry.
