Tezos India, an organization supporting the Tezos ecosystem in the Indian sub-continent, has announced the launch of the highly anticipated TezAsia Hackathon 3.0. This third edition of Asia’s most popular hackathon is set to kick off on July 16th, 2023, initiating a month-long journey of collaboration and innovation among the brightest minds in the Indian blockchain space.
The primary objective of this transformative initiative is to amplify Web3 development and foster wider access to the Tezos blockchain platform across the Asia-Pacific region. Tezos India aims to leverage India’s demographic transition to establish the country as the blockchain capital of the world.
The event brings a remarkable opportunity for deserving candidates in the blockchain space. Tezos India will be offering grants and prizes worth $130,000, as well as lucrative career opportunities. Moreover, there is a dedicated funding pool of $100,000 to support projects and founders with high business potential. This initiative aims to encourage and empower individuals to make significant contributions to the blockchain industry while providing them with valuable resources and opportunities.
The TEZASIA hackathon revolves around two key concepts: ‘Small but great’ and ‘Disrupt all the things.’ These themes encompass a wide range of topics, including non-fungible tokens (NFTs), decentralized finance (DeFi), and more.
The ‘Small but great’ theme is tailored for individuals who are new to blockchain development, providing them with an opportunity to showcase their skills by creating a simple decentralized application (DApp) using the Tezos technology stack. On the other hand, the ‘Disrupt all the things’ theme invites teams with innovative visions to present a proof of concept or a minimum viable product for their Web3-based product. To increase their chances of winning in each category, participants can explore a comprehensive list of ideas available on the platform.
Om Malviya, President of Tezos India, said: “Tezos India has been highly successful in implementing strategies to boost blockchain adoption in India and South East Asia to some extent.”
“We have created the first layer of adoption through various initiatives over the years and the time has come to leverage the platform to engage the large blockchain community in India and across Asia to accelerate into the next phase of the blockchain revolution. It’s time to build products and services on blockchain for the masses to make Web3 a part of people’s daily lives,” he added.
TezAsia serves as an innovation hub designed to provide a level playing field for all participants. It offers customized workshops on problem-solving, extensive training on utilizing Tezos tools to build groundbreaking applications (DApps), and the opportunity to explore the Tezos Universe, gaining Web3 wisdom to enter a world of endless possibilities and opportunities offered by Web3/Blockchain.
The TezAsia hackathon has no entry barriers and is open to all, including college students, developers, working professionals, coders, and blockchain enthusiasts.
Registrations for the hackathon are now open, and interested participants can access detailed information and sign up through the official microsite at https://bit.ly/TezAsia-TezosIndia.
