Sky Mavis raised US$ 7.5 million in series A funding from a group of institutional and individual investors including lead investor Libertus Capital, and Mark Cuban.
Sky Mavis said that it was underfunded till now. The company expects that this new funding round will allow it to be more aggressive with growth experiments. Sky Mavis anticipate Axie scaling to millions of users through:
- A world class creator program that blends the best referral systems ever created and adds a touch of blockchain magic.
- Free to play-to-earn will unlock millions of new users who will try Axie for the fun before making any economic decisions. Hundreds of thousands of users try to play Axie each month but give up due to all the steps.
