At the recent Google ZK Summit, Polyhedra Network announced the launch of Proof Cloud in open beta. This new service, created in collaboration with Google Cloud, aims to meet the increasing demand for efficient, fast, and cost-effective ZK-proof solutions. At launch, Proof Cloud will be utilized by major blockchain platforms Polygon, Linea, and Lita.
Eric Vreeland, Chief Strategy Officer at Polyhedra Network, highlighted the transformative potential of Proof Cloud. “The goal of Proof Cloud is to make zero-knowledge proofs more accessible to all, in both web2 and web3. We’re excited to work with teams like Google Cloud, Polygon, Linea, and Lita to make this possible,” he said. Vreeland emphasized that the platform enables developers to maximize the performance of their zk-proofs, leveraging the fastest and most efficient ZK provers to significantly reduce computational costs by up to 90%.
Central to Proof Cloud is the Proof Arena platform, a pioneering benchmarking tool designed to enhance the transparency and capabilities of ZK-proof technology. Proof Arena allows ZK developers to perform fair and transparent prover benchmarks, testing the performance of various prover architectures under controlled conditions. This tool not only provides a comparative analysis of different proof systems but also ensures that all controllable variables are held constant, offering a clear and scientific manner for ZK-proof system creators to evaluate and improve their solutions.
Sandeep Nailwal, Co-Founder of Polygon Labs, praised the initiative, stating, “Zero-knowledge technology continues to progress at a lightning-fast pace. Tools like Polyhedra’s Proof Cloud are critical to lowering the barrier to entry for building with ZK and add much-needed transparency to the space. We are excited to make Polygon’s industry-leading proving technology available for all developers in Proof Cloud, bringing costs down even further.”
Proof Cloud’s capabilities extend to generating benchmarks for Polyhedra’s Expander ZK-proof system, Polygon’s Plonky3, StarkWare’s Stwo, and Linea’s Gnark. The platform plans to support all open-source proof systems and will provide benchmarks for common ZK tasks such as Keccak and Poseidon hash verification across various machine configurations.
With the launch of Proof Cloud, Polyhedra Network aims to significantly impact the landscape of ZK-proof technology, making it more accessible, efficient, and transparent for developers across both web2 and web3 environments.
